Kuraray is proposing to implement a new process, and I have attached a few pictures below for clarification. Basically,
this process will feed the currently used resin into a small blender, where silane will be injected at 1000ppm via a small
metering pump. Attached is the SDS and the emissions of the ethanol or methanol emission of the two current silane
options are as follows: Silquest A-2120 max emissions are 310g/1kg of McOH; CoatOSil 2287 max emissions are
370g/1kg of EtOH. The projected volume for SG6000 for 2018 is 1,085,OOOkg and for 2019 is 2,456,OOOkg. This means
our consumption of silane for those two years will be 1/1000th of those values. This process will take place in ambient
conditions for temperature and pressure considerations. I know you spoke with the Engineer on the project (Aaron
Evans).
I am submitting this to you so that you can provide guidance on anything that we need to do so that we can use this new
process. Wasn't sure if we needed to add this to our existing permit, do a modification or if anything is required. Please
let me know how we need to proceed and if you have any further questions please let me know.
