The March 30, 2005, Outfall 001 BOD5 analytical result was 367 mg/L which equates to a mass discharge of 2,981 pounds
BOD5 for that day. DuPont believes that there was a laboratory error of some kind that resulted in this abnormally high
result. The BODS results for the two previous days were 12.8 mg/L and 9.5 mg/L. The DuPont ORC's COD analysis of
the 03/30/05 sample showed 82 mg/L COD The COD results for the two previous days were 86 mg/L and 66 mg/L. The
commercial laboratory that performed the BODS analyses was unable to identify an error that could account for this
apparent incorrect result.
