A review of our files indicates that a mistake was made in the first page of the amended
Pump and Haul Permit No. WQ0019636, issued on March 2, 2001. The permit expiration date
was incorrectly stated as March 8, 2001. Please. find enclosed a corrected page to DuPonts
Amended Pump and Haul Permit with a corrected expiration date of September 4, 2001 as derived
from your letter dated February 23, 2001.

In accordance with the provisions of Article 21, Chapter 143, General Statutes of North Carolina
as amended, and other applicable Laws, Rules, and Regulations
PERMISSION IS HEREBY GRANTED TO
DuPont Fluoroproducts
Fayetteville Works
Bladen County
FOR THE
operation of a pump and haul activity for wastewater generated from the Nafion manufacturing
process located at the DuPont Fayetteville Works, 22828 NC Hwy 87 West, Fayetteville, North
Carolina 28306 with no discharge of wastes to surface water, pursuant to and in conformity with
the information provided by DuPont. The following information lists the location, amount and
type of wastewater covered under this permit:
a. CHEMSERVE Terminal in Wilmington, NC, tank no. 104 for 1.1 million gallons of
untreated Nafion wastewater containing HFA Hydrate.
b. CHEMSERVE Terminal in Wilmington, NC, tanks no. 12 and 109 for 1.0 million
gallons each of untreated Nafion wastewater containing HFA Hydrate.
VOPAK Terminal in Wilmington, NC, tank no. 15 for 2.3 million gallons of
untreated Nafion wastewater nat containing HFA Hydrate.
This Permit will be effective from the date of issuance until September 4, 2001, and shall
be subject to the following specified conditions and limitations:
This Permit shall become voidable unless the subject pump and haul
activities are carried out in a manner which has been approved by the
Fayetteville Regional Office.
2. This Permit is effective only with respect to the nature and volume of wastes
described in the information provided by DuPont Fayetteville Works.
3. The facilities shall be properly maintained and operated at all times.
4. This Permit is not transferable.
5. No type of wastewater other than that from the Nafion production area shall be
included in the pump and haul activities.
