Trent and Jim:
Here is some additional information on the future water treatment plants weekly sampling events.
We wish to include some quality control samples with each weekly sampling event.
Please collect extra sample volume at one location with the bottles provided by the laboratory that will be
used for a matrix spike (MS) and lab duplicate (REP). At one of your locations, besides the actual water sample

taken for the HFPO-DA analysis, please fill two other bottles with water and label one as "IVIS" and the other
as "REP".
The laboratory will provide laboratory blank water and an empty sample bottle; please collect a field blank
(FBLK) at the first sample location via a bottle to bottle transfer of the blank water. Label that bottle as
"FLK".
On the Chain -of -Custody where it asks for the compound being analyzed, please use "HFPO-DA" instead of
"GenX" because the lab is used to seeing HFPO-DA.
Also, if you would send me the identifier names of the sample locations, in the future the Test America lab will
send you preprinted labels so that you do not have to write the information.
