Tip or Complaint: | live in Wilmington, NC. We get our city water from the Cape Fear River. We were recently alerted by
the press that several toxic chemicals, which are suspected human carcinogens, have been being dumped into the
Cape Fear River knowingly, from Chemours, since the 1980s. One of the substances is Gen-X. Because that substance
is not currently categorized, they have found a loophole. Several local scientist have stated the the numbers found in our
river are unsafe for human consumption and that we should stop drinking the water immediately. Dupont (the parent
company of Chemours) has done this previously in WV with C8, and poisoned over 37,000 people knowingly. This must
be stopped! They have found a loophole, but there must be something that can be done to stop them. They should be
shut down for knowingly poising the hundreds of thousands of people who rely on this water system. We have a
significant child cancer rate in our area, and my concern is that there could be some correlation.
