Connie ---original message --- prom: lau.christopher@epa.gov [mailto:lau.christopher0epa.gov] Sent: Thursday, 3une 17, ZOlO 6:27 PM To: Brower, Connie subject: A follow-up on PFAA Days III Symposium Dear Member of the PFAA Days Community: we would like to thank you for your enthusiastic support and participation at the recent conference at EPA' s campus in Research Triangle park' NC. we hope that you found the meeting to be informative' interesting and productive, and that the experience will help your research and foster future collaborations. we especially wish to thank all of the session leaders and speakers who provided state - of -science overviews, and poster presenters who discussed their own research programs and findings. while the meeting is over, there is still a great deal of work that needs to be done to summarize the outstanding research that was presented at the conference. we hope that you will join in with the plans to publish Pp^A Days III -related research in either of the two special focus issues of Reproductive Toxicology or Environmental science & Technology. As outlined below, these publications have different emphases and slightly different intentions regarding their PpxA Days special issues' so you should consider carefully which would be best for your contributions. The Reproductive Toxicology special edition will consider research related to characterization of ppmA toxicity' elucidation of their modes and mechanisms of actions' description of pharmacokinetics and modeling, Pr/m mixture effects' epidemiology, and human health risk analysis. In additinn, we are seeking a couple of reviews or mini -reviews to summarize issues that are critical to the understanding of potential human and ecological health risks of the perfluorinated chemicals. All manuscripts will be subject to the normal peer -review process, with accepted papers being published immediately on-line at the journal *ebdte. The printed version of this special issue will be available in February or March in ZOlI. The guest editor of the Reproductive Toxicology special issue will be Chris Lau (lau.christopherNepa.gnv). The Environmental science & Technology focus issue is intended to cover full length original research related to material presented at ppAA Days and any other original manuscripts related to current Pp;A research. Papers should consider topics that involve fate and transport, reactivity' water and wastewater treatment' risk and exposure assessment in the environmental media' ecological toxicity' epidemiology, human and environmental health. The overall intention is to select approximately 25 publications that summarize the current state of global ppAA research as well as the most promising new developments in this field. manuscripts for this special focus issue can be submitted to ss&T through the ACs Paragon plus Environment website (https://acs.manuscriptcentral.cum/acs)' by selecting Environmental science & Technology and indicating that you want to submit for the perfluoroalkyl Arid special edition. manuscripts will be subject to normal peer -review by the journal, with accepted material being published immediately as an Asxp article. The actual bound version of this special edition will be published no later than October 201I. The guest editors {mark strynar (strynar.mark@epa.gov), Andy Lindstrom (lindstrum.andrewNepa.gov)' and Laurence Libelo (libelo.laurence0epa.guv)) will be working with the managing editor to select manuscripts for this special issue. while the research presented at the PpAA Days zzz symposium is our primary target for publication in these two special issues, it must be emphasized that other works related to prxxs that are conducted by investigators who did not attend our meeting are also welcome. In that regard, please help us to draw attention from your colleagues to these special issues. We also want to remind you that your comments about the conference are always welcome' with suggestions on how to improve future pFAx Days meetings being very important to us. Please send any feedback you may have directly to Chris Lau (lau.christopherNepa.gov). OEQ-CFVV_00058061 Thanks again for helping to make this a very interesting and enjoyable meeting. we look forward to your continued support and participation in the Pp;A Days community. Best regards, PFAA Days III Organizing committee
