Hi Connie,
I found the following information for Perfluorooctanoic acid (PFOA; C8) in a memo frorn Alan Clark to Alan Klimek dated
November 8, 2006 The merno was in the Established IMACs volume 6 binder:
The recommended PFOA IMAC = 2 ug/L
The RfD = 0,0003 rng/kg-day
Critical endpoints = Reduction in mean body weight and body weight gain from F, male rat PUPS and F, adult
male rats and increased liver weights in Fc) parental males.
I also found a recommendation for the revision of the INIAC for PFOA dated 12/17/2012 using an RfD of 1.60A -.04
obtained from the NC Science Advisory Board (Air Toxics). The recommended IMAC was calculated as LI Ug/1- This
information was in the 2010-2012 GW'I'R NACS binder,
Both documents are on your desk so you can review!

Subject: Groundwater IMAC for PFOA
xm=
I am looking into groundwater quality standards for PFCs and noted that North Carolina has an IMAC for PFOA of 2
ppb. I cannot seem to find any documentation on the NCDENR website that outlines the reference dose (RfD) that was
used when this IMAC was calculated in 2006. Is there an available documentation that I could download or review?
Thank you in advance for your time.
