Recent studies, not published as yet, show |uvver NOAELs and LOAELsthan those used inthe draft risk assessment. Adverse effects may be occurring at an order of magnitude lower than the level used to develop the draft recommendation in the risk assessment (0.9to 1.6 uo/L). The NC SAB will revisit PFOA at its November meeting to determine if any additional info rmatio n/stud ies are available. They have asked the New Jersey DEP to submit any new information on PFOA found as a result of their monthly literature searches. SAB member 8aina Kenyon will be keeping track via Pub'Med, a US National Library of Medicine database at . The board reiterated that DWQ is not obligated to use the Board's PFOA recommendation when finalized.
