Preston, Ross and Mark â
FYI below. | did not see any K8C|C members on the lists and only 1 NC town and 2 WC industries on the CVVAnnd RCRA
lists respectively. Lists deserve osecond look tomake sure. David's memory ofthe USA Today article efew years ago is
correct â that story caused a lot of work for the DAQ and communities mentioned.
The watch list info from EPA illustrates the link between NOVa and the ECHO database which is used to generate the
watch lists of HPVs and SNC.

Subject: FYI: Potential NPR series on "air toxic hotspots" possibly beginning next week
Thought you might be interested in a possible upcoming NPR series regarding "air toxic hotspots"andHPVs(ahhoughh
looks like other water and hazvvaste are also noted here). | quickly scanned and did not seethe Canton K4iU on the
attached lists.
Apparently EPA believes, based on the FOIA requests and press inquiries, that NPR and the Center for Public Integrity
will be producing a series on "air toxic hot spots" beginning to air next week. Local affiliates may run locally focused
companion stories.
I'll keep aeye out for further developments, and let meknow ifyou hear anything onthis. When | was atthe Mill |
remember a USA Today series that causing a fair amount of response work - so I hope this heads up will prevent you
from being caught off -guard.
