This letter is to inforin you of new diesel fuel requirements that may impact your facility.
Beginning October l,20|O,owners and operators ofstationary diesel fuel -fired internal combustion
enginesthat are subject to New Source Performance 8tandarde(NSP0'ouopoo DDmnd have o
displacement of less than 30 liters per cylinder must use diesel ftiel that meets the following:
- Sulfur content cannot exceed |5ppm;and
- Minimum cetane index of 40 or maximum aromatic content of 35 percent by volunie.

EPA Vouse the remaining "non -uomp|iunt`diesel fuel after the October |,20|0compliance date. UF
the petition will be valid for a period of no more than 6 months. The petition must be
submitted &xand approved hvEPA prior toOctober |,20|0. Jfadditional time ierequired &xueede
remaining"non -compliant" diesel ftiel then you must submit a new petition to EPA. Petitions may be
