z have been to the site on a few occasions and z do recall the presence of gravel on the facility
grounds.
As far as an unlawful discharge' the facility's mpoes permit is very specific about *hat is allowed to be
discharged and through which outfalls. Any other discharge not covered by the wPoss permit' specifically
a discharge of untreated wastewater directly to surface waters via a conveyance of some kind would likely
be considered an unlawful discharge regardless of other outfalls meeting permit limits. should a spill or
runoff of some kind enter into the site's wastewater system where it is treated and does not cause an
exceedance of any permit limit would be covered by the mposs permit.

Mike:
If you have been to our site, you will remember that the entire site's pervious surfaces in the
production areas are covered with several inches of gravel. so you are correct that the direction of the
rinse water would be downward, through the gravel' into the soil' and then eventually into the surficial
groundwater.
out of curiosity, since this product is comprised of inorganic alkalies, if said product should enter a
water conveyance system that does NOT go to the site's wwrp, but if the pH at the site's final effluent
outfall OOZ stays within the permitted range of 6.0 to 9.0 su, would that be an unlawful discharge?
