I don't plan to respond to this email but here's my take on the PFOA situation in case we are asked. Let meknow you
thoughts when you get achance --- nohurry.
It is my understanding that the SAB will finalize the draft PFOA risk assessment (May 2010 version updated to reflect
more recent health effects studies) and will provide a copy of the final PFOA risk assessment to the DWQ along with the
8AB's recommendation for maximum allowable concentration of PFOAin groundwater. After reviewing the risk
assessment and recommendation, DWQ staff will decide whether or not to revise the current IMAC for PFOA.
If the DWQ decides to change the current PFOA IMAC (2 ug/L) based on the SAB's recommendation, then a copy of the
risk assessment will be made available for review and comment as part of the rulemaking process when a permanent
standard for PFOA is proposed.
