Dear Mr. and Mrs. Webster:
On December 6, 2018, Jenny Graznak of this office conducted a compliance evaluation inspection
on the wastewater discharge system located at the above address. The State requires the
Division of Water Resources to inspect these types of systems at least once every five years.
According to county records, you are the current owner of this property, however you were not
present during the inspection. Ms. Graznak was able to contact you at [phone] to discuss
your permit and wastewater system with you.
You stated that your septic tank was last pumped out on March 14, 2018 and that your son adds
tablets to the chlorinator tubes since you have had health problems in the last 2 years. You also
mentioned that you have never seen any discharge at the effluent pipe. A copy of the permit
requirements is attached to this letter.
Please be aware that violations of your NPDES permit, or the NC statutes and regulations under
which it is promulgated, are subject to fines of up to $25,000 per day, per violation, as set forth
in NC General Statute (NCGS) 143-215.6A, Enforcement Procedures, Civil Penalties. Your
immediate attention is greatly appreciated.
