Sullins Director July 8, 2009 DWQ Project # 08-1756 Ver. 2 Pamlico County Weyerhaeuser Company Mr. Chris Venters 905 Emerald Isle Drive Emerald Isle, NC 28594 Subject: Weyerhaeuser Lot Swindell Bay, Bay River, Neuse River Basin Dee Freeman Secretary Approval of 401 Water Quality Certification and Authorization Certificate per the Neuse River Buffer Protection Rules (15A NCAC 2B.0233) Dear Mr. Venters: The Washington Regional Office received your application for a CAMA Major Permit from the Division of Coastal Management on March 4, 2009. The impacts proposed are for a 10-slip pier with proposed shading impacts of 0.0030 acres of 404 wetlands, 23,106 square feet of open waters, and 393 square feet (ft) of protected riparian buffers as described in your application. This Certification can also be found on line at: hqp://h2o.enr.state.nc.us/ncwetlands/certs.html. You are authorized to proceed with your project as proposed under General Water Quality Certification (WQC) # 3641 (enclosed). This Certification allows you to use the CAMA Major Permit when the Division of Coastal Management issues it. Written concurrence from the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) is not required provided that you can meet all of the conditions of the General Water Quality Certification. This letter shall also act as your approved Authorization Certificate for impacts to the protected riparian buffers per 15A NCAC 213 .0233 If at anytime during construction of your project you determine that you cannot meet these conditions or if there are any additional impacts to wetlands or water quality not described in your application, you must contact this office immediately.
