SITE REPORT
Applicant currently owns 6.16 acres of land between the
Atlantic Ocean and NC 12 in Rodanthe, Dare County. The property
is vegetated by typical dune vegetation such as sea Oats (Uniola
latifolia), sandspurs (Cenchrus sp.) and various other grasses.
A 404 wetland is located from NC 12 900' toward the ocean. No
development is proposed in this wetland area that will result in
dredging or filling.
Applicant proposes to grade the upland dune portion and
construct 48 campsites with water and sewer and construct a 5,700
GPD LPP system for waste treatment in an existing campground that
will be abandoned.
ANTICIPATED IMPACTS
This project will alter an already impacted tract of dune
vegetation that is currently being used to store campers.
CAMA REVIEW
The proposal is consistent with the transition
classification as identified in the Dare LUP.
