SCM 4 is underground detention, which provides storage for treated water coming out of SCM 4 (sand filter), where it is slowly released into the existing storm drainage pipe that runs through the site. This is a closed system. SCM 4 (sand filter) provides 90% nitrogen removal and discharges into an existing conveyance, and therefore diffuse flow is not required. I've attached the SCM 3 & 4 Design and Detail sheet from the construction drawings. Please let me know if you have any other questions, or require any additional information. Thanks! Is it considered an open or closed SCM? Does it provide diffuse flow? If so, please provide details. Thanks in advance! Stephanie Z.
