Describe the overall project in detail, including indirect impacts and the type of equipment to be used:* We propose to replace the existing single span 18' 6" timber bridge with a single barrel CAABC (25' Y' nnde x 6' 2" high x 36' long). The culvert will be buried T deep. It will have lowflow sills at the entrance, middle, and ext. The sills will have weirs to encourage stream meander and the weirs will be 7' wide to maintain the exsting low flow channel dimension. Stream slope at the site is 2.3%; the proposed culvert slope is 2.4%. Culvert installation will result in a permanent impact to 36 linear feet (LF) of Rush Branch. Bank stabilization/floodplain benches will result in 43 LF of permanent impact. Temporary impacts to 45 LF of the stream are necessary for dewatering/diversion during construction. The stream is approximately 10' wide and 4° deep with a predominately sand, gravel, and large cobble substrate. Rush Branch is classified as Class C, Trout. One unnamed tributary (UT) to Rush Branch is present. The UT is an estimated 6' wide and 3" deep with a sand and large cobble substrate. Sixteen linear feet of the lff will be permanently impacted by the construction of the culverYs wingwall and another 23 LF will be impacted by the placement of bank stabilization/floodplain benches. Approximately 20 LF of the UT will be temporarily impacted by dewatering during construction. Equipment wll include trackhoes, dump trucks, and, possibly, a crane. 4j.
