No structures are located on the lot however, a septic tank is present for future use. The lot is landscaped as a lawn and is vegetated with upland grasses and trees. Severe erosion is occurring on the lot which is evident by a severe erosion scarp and undercut trees. One small area (+ 30 sq.ft.) of Scirpus spn. and Spartina patens is growing near the normal water level. The lots on both sides of the applicant's property are bulkheaded. Project proposal The applicant is proposing to construct a bulkhead. The bulkhead will be 112' in length, will average 7' beyond the NWL and will be + 16' beyond the NWL at the furthest point. The bulkhead will be connected to adjacent bulkheads. The confined area will be backfilled with materials from an upland source. Also proposed is a 100' long by 13' wide boardwalk which will be constructed parallel to the bulkhead. This boardwalk will be in line with adjacent bulkheads. Environmental impact The project as proposed should have a minimal environmental impact. + 1,300 sq.ft. of open water area will be covered by the proposed boardwalk. This area includes + 30 sq.ft. of artina patens and Scirpus spp. Also + 700 sq.ft. of open water area will be filled as a result of the bulkhead placement. No wetlands will be filled. David L.
