Monitoring Requirements Permit No. WQ0001204
CF Industries, Inc., 'Tunis, NC Facility
Land Application of Nitrogen -Enriched Groundwater
Hertford County
Dear Mr. Hall:
In accordance with a modification request on November 30, 1998 and
condition III,(4),(d) of the subject permit; we are sending this letter as
permission to reduce the amount of groundwater monitoring used in the land
application program. This modification reduces the approved monitoring to a
field test every 25 trucks(125,000 gallons) and a laboratory test every 100
trucks(500,000 gallons). However, in the event four consecutive field tests
and one laboratory test vary more than 20%, the original monitoring shall
resume. When the requirements of condition 111,(4),(d) are again met, the
reduced monitoring may begin again. This letter changes condition
I11,(4),(a&b) only with respect to frequency, not parameters. All other
conditions shall remain in-place for permit no. WQ0001204.
This Letter of Permission shall be effective from the date of issuance
until March 31, 2002, the same as the subject permit"
