Dear Ms. Bennett:
In accordance with your application received 8 May 1989, we
are forwarding herewith Permit Number WQ0001665 for the
operation of the existing subsurface wastewater disposal system
to serve Aus-Ben Manufacturing Industries, Inc.
This Permit will be effective from the date of its issuance
until 30 April 1994, and shall be subject to the conditions and
limitations as specified therein.

For the Discharge of Sewage, Industrial Wastes, or Other Wastes
In accordance with the provisions of Article 21 of Chapter
143, General Statutes of North Carolina as amended, and other
applicable Laws, Rules and Regulations
PERMISSION IS HEREBY GRANTED TO
Aus,Ben Manufacturing Industries, Inc.
FOR THE
operation of an existing septic tank ground absorption wastewater
treatment system consisting of a 13,400 gallon septic tank,
dosing tank with dual 70 gpm pumps,' baffled distribution box,
and a 7,700 square foot nitrification field to serve a maximum
of 300 persons at the Aus-Ben Manufacturing Industries, Inc_
facility in, Watauga County,
and pursuant to the application received on 8 May 1989, and in
conformity with the project plans, specifications, and other
supporting data, subsequently filed with the Department of
Natural Resources and Community Development and considered a
part of this Permit.
This permit shall be effective from the date of its
issuance until 30 April 1994, and shall be subject to the
following specified conditions and limitations:
1. Flaw conservation devices shall be used on all water
use facilities at the Studio.
2. This Permit is effective only with respect to the
nature and volume of wastes described in the
application and other supporting data,
3. This facility shall not discharge directly to the
surface waters of the State.
4. This Permit shall become voidable in event of failure
of the soil to adequately absorb the wastes, and may be
rescinded unless the facilities are maintained and
operated in a manner which will protect the assigned
water quality standards of the surface and groundwaters.

5. In the event the facilities fail to perform
satisfactorily, the owners shall take such immediate
corrective action as may be required by this
Department_
6. This Permit is not transferable.

8. The method for final disposal of screenings, scum, and
sludges from these facilities shall not result in any
contamination of the surface or ground waters of this
State_
9. This disposal system shall be abandoned immediately
upon the availability of a regional sewer system.
10. Any monitoring deemed necessary by the Ditrision of
Environmental Management to ensure the protection of
ground waters will be established and an acceptable
sampling and reporting program shall be followed.
11. The approved nitrification field site must not be
disturbed, regraded, or substituted without written
permission from the Asheville Regional Supervisor.
