We feel that the project site is a good candidate for the proposed restoration and enhancement activities. the project is deemed issed with the following conditions/clarifications: 1) Figure 6 of the Restoration Plan shows a portion of Wetland B located outside the proposed conservation easement. Please provide verification that only portions of Wetland B within the conservation easement will be used to generate mitigation credit. 2) The Restoration Plan describe riparian buffer enhancment along Sandy Creek. The vegetation success criteria described for the project in general is 260 stems per acre of planted woody vegetation after five years. In order to generate mitigation credits for any of the state buffer programs, success criteria is 320 stems per acre after five years. Also, please note that riparian buffer enhancement generates 1/3 of the credit that restoration generates. Therefore, buffer mitigation credit at this site, pending successful completion of five years of monitoring, would be 4.68/3 = 1.56 acres. Have a great holiday weekend, Eric
