Small stream project. Considerable Rain today and previous day
Started at barn and walked down Round Hill Branch. Ag field, hay? Adjacent to stream.
All reaches proposed as R.
Lower Round Hill Branch- reach somewhat incised (1.3-1.7), no riparian woodies but did have extensive
herbaceous which made seeing the stream difficult. Pretty clear the stream needed work. No evidence of
typical bedform seen, sand and silt dominated.
T2- walked upstream to road. Similar to Round Hill but stream condition not as bad. Again, difficult to see
with herb layer.
T1 and Upper Round Hill Branch- these areas of stream did not seem as unstable as other reaches. Herb
layer still masked channel to a degree. Todd has issues with R in these two reaches. Upper Round Hill may
be more like E1 or 2.
Todd somewhat animated in his case that the areas he was seeing are approved of at closeouts, so why is
this a restoration site? Not sure I completely agreed with him on this one.
Eventually, general approach was accepted.
