Protect loading and unloading areas with roofs over docks. • Divert/direct stormwater flow away from bulk material storage and transfer areas. • Conduct vehicle and equipment maintenance indoors. Use drip pans when changing fluids and immediately clean any spillage. • Utilize covered compactors for waste disposal to minimize exposure to stormwater. • Maintain vegetation of exposed soils to reduce erosion. • Utilize secondary containment for bulk material storage. • Backup pumps (two) and high level audible alarm on the primary basin to prevent overflow. • Overfill/high level alarm on #4 Fuel Oil AST. • Level transmitters to control room on Hydrogen Peroxide AST and Sulfuric Acid AST. • Filters installed in catch basins for Outfalls 6 and 7. • Curbing to be installed by December 31, 2015 around catch basins associated with Outfalls 6 and 7. Bulk Transfer Procedures • Prevent leaking trucks and railcars, when observed, from entering or leaving the Facility site until the leak is stopped. • Ensure bulk material transfers occur in areas with adequate secondary containment. • By March 31, 2016, the Facility will obtain and implement a portable containment dike for the #4 Fuel Oil and Sulfuric Acid transfer area to contain the most likely release due to hose or connection failure. Good Housekeeping . Sweep areas with potential for accumulating debris and other particulate contaminants, such as shipping and receiving areas, to remove debris and other particulate contaminants when observed. • Ensure spills and leaks are cleaned up immediately. • Provide outdoor waste containers with tight fitting lids and keep them closed except when loading waste material into the dumpster. Replace open -top roll -off dumpsters with covered dumpsters or locate open -top roll -off dumpsters under shelters by March 31, 2016. • Locate spill response materials near material storage and transfer areas. Inspections . Conduct regular inspections for accumulated stormwater in containment areas and dispose of accordingly. • Conduct regular inspections of areas exposed to stormwater and conduct corrective actions as necessary. Conduct regular stormwater monitoring activity. Lumberton Cellulose LLC Permit No, NCS000374 BMP Summary ManagementBest Description Preventive Maintenance . Calibrate pH meter as scheduled. .
