Dear Mr. Holland:
your response to the March 27, 2018 notice of violation (NOV) was received on May 25, 2018, The
Town has completed all required actions per the NOV, However, there is still one point of clarification.
Please respond to the following comments no later than July 20, 2018.
1. The response did not specifically state if process wastewater is being discharged from the
facility. Instead it said, "everything was in order per the permit", indicating no process
wastewater discharge: the industrial user permit (IUP) indicates that 40 CFR category as
N/A and the limits page says, "No Contact". However, the permit application from August
2015 indicates that process wastewater is discharged to the sanitary sewer without
pretreatment.
If no process wastewater is discharged, have the SIU make corrections to the attached
Water Supply, Use & Disposal Worksheet and sign and date. Provide a copy to PERCS.
If process wastewater is being discharged determine what operations under Subpart C —
Ferrous Casting are discharging and request data on amounts of metal poured. Contact
PERCS for assistance in determining permit limits.
