Replace Bridge No. 870162 over Silver Creek on SR 1361 (Old NC 280).
ARCHITECTURE AND LANDSCAPES REVIEW
Review of HPO quad maps, HPO GIS information, historic designations roster, and indexes was
unde�taken on August 29, 2013. Based on this review, there are no existing NR, SL, LD, DE, or SS
propeities in the Area of Potentiel Effects, which is 75' from the centerline each way and 300' from each
end of the bridge. East of the bridge is a two-story house frame house built 1950 based on Transylvauia
County GIS/Tax information. Based on imagery, the house is unremarkable and not eligible for National
Register listing. HPO GIS indicates that there is a Survey Site within the vicinity of the project area
(TV426) and GIS information shows that there is a house built 1880 on the parcel stretching noMh and
south of the bridge, however the 1880 house could not be located on aerial imagery or Bird's eye view. A
mobile home si4s on the parcel. Bridge No. 162, a timber bridge built 1957, is not eligible for NR listing.
Tl�ere are no National Register listed or eligible properties within the APE and no survey is required. If
design plans change, additional review will be required.
