Project summary The applicant proposes to construct a pier and boat Slips adjacent to the Charter Restaurant located on BoRUe Sound between 4th aj?i ?- .`TH Sts. in Morehead Cit Carteret County. 9. Narrative description The applicant's property is a restaurant business located adjacent to Bogue Sound and Evans St. between 4th and 5th sts. in Morehead City, Carteret County. The business is housed in a 4500 sq.ft. Wooden frame structure located entirely over the water. The structure is bordered by wooden jetty walks, with a large 800 sq.ft. deck bordering the sound. Currently the building is being renovated and a second floor is being added within the existing footprint. This work is being undertaken under an active CAMA Minor development permit issued by the Morehead City LPO Cecil Sewell. Associated with this will be the proposed dock and boat slip construction. The new proposed docks and slips will adjoin the easternmost side of the restaurant. The new dock will replace the catwalks that exist here. The dock will average 55' long and 16' wide, and will have two levels. Pilings to accommodate 5 vessels will be driven in the im- mediate area. The existing 800 sq.ft. deck on the sound side is pro- posed to be repaired by rebuilding. Anticipated impacts Conducting the project as proposed will result in the 'shading of ap- proximately 880 st.ft. of estuarine bottom with a permanent dock structure. Full occupancy of the slips will consume another, 5200 sq.ft. of estuarine bottom that is currently being used for this purpose: Construction and use of this facility is not expected to have an adverse impact on the public interests in the adjacent waters. Project summary The applicant proposes to construct a pier and boat slimes adjacent to the Charter Restaurant located on Bo ue Sound between 4th an(I .rTH Sts. in Morehead City, Carteret Count "%7. l AM— ,* 9. - Narrative description The applicant's property is a restaurant business located adjacent to Bogue Sound and Evans St. between 4th and 5th sts. in Morehead City, Carteret County. Associated with this will be the proposed dock and boat slip construction The new proposed docks and slips will.adjoin the easternmost side of the restaurant. The new dock will replace the catwalks that exist here. The dock will average 55' long and.16' wide, and will have two levels. Pilings to accommodate 5 vessels will be driven in the im- mediate area. The existing 800 sq.ft..deck on the sound side is pro- posed to be repaired by rebuilding. Anticipated impacts Conducting the project as proposed will result in the shading of ap- proximately 880 st.ft. of estuarine bottom with a permanent dock structure. Full occupancy of the slips will consume another 5200 sq.ft. of estuarine bottom that is currently being used for this purpose. Construction and use of this facility is not expected to have an adverse impact on the public interests. in the adjacent waters. :Submitted by Nelson Paul Date ' Jan. 16, 1985 APPLICATION > FOR PERMIT TO EXCAVATE ANDrOR FILL EASEh1ENr IN LANDS COVERED BY WATER WATER OUALI rY CLRTIFICA T ION CANNA PERMIT FOR MAJOR UEVELONMENT State of North Carolina Department of Natural Resources & Community Development (GS 113.229,143-21 5.3 (a) (1), 143-215.3 (c), 113A-IIS ,.. f lCorpsoginrr_rs (33 CF R 209. 32T--)'-7 Department of Administration (GS 146.12) Please type or print and fill in all blanks.
