REQUEST FOR MORE INFORMATION
Dear Mr. Buckman:
On March 17, 2009, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application
dated March 2, 2009 to impact 1.03 acres of waters, 0.092 acres of wetlands, 3011.02
square feet (ft) of Zone 1 protected riparian buffers and 2040.39 square feet (ft) of Zone
2 protected riparian buffers for the purpose of developing a 27 lot subdivision on the
subject property. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or
provided inaccurate information as discussed below. Therefore, unless we receive the
additional information requested below, we will have to move toward denial of your
application as required by 15A NCAC 2H .0506 and 15A NCAC 2B .0259 (8) and will
place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this additional information.
Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your project.
Additional Information Requested:
1. Wetland Connectivity
Within your application you indicate that 1823.93 square feet of wetland fill will
be required to access lot 22. There is no indication of culvert placement to

maintain wetland connectivity. Please provide information indicating an
appropriately sized culvert and engineered plans showing culvert placement.
2. Docking Facility
Within your application and project narrative a docking facility is indicated but no
facility is indicated on the associated project plan. Please provide information
indicating whether or not you intend to build such a facility or provide dockage on
the subject property.
Please respond in writing to the DWQ within four weeks of the date of this letter with the
requested information. If we do not hear from you within four weeks, we will assume that
you no longer want to pursue this project and we will consider the project as withdrawn.
This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to
wetlands, waters or protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within
your application are not authorized (at this time) by the DWQ. Please call Kyle Barnes
