Bedrock can be a replacement for the cross vanes as needed. Thanks, Rob Murray, Christopher A wrote Reference: -NCDOT permit application on April 29, 2008 -NCDENR-DWQ permit dated May 19, 2008. S t I of 2 4/1/2009 3:39 PM Re: Replacement of Br. 133 on SR 1412 over Grassy Creek in Granvil... I have discussed the situation with Jamie Lancaster (PDEA-NEU), the RE and the contractor. We believe that the lowest cross vane should not be installed on the project due to the presence of bedrock in the location of the cross vane. Additionally, header rock in this location is below the water of the unnamed tributary. -The purpose of the cross vanes on the project is for grade control. The bedrock existing in this location should serve as adequate grade control. An additional cross vane is depicted on the upper ends of the relocated channel. This is located at the tie in point of the new channel and the existing channel. Bedrock in this location will also lead to a future request to delete this cross vane. We will no[ be in this part of the relocated channel until the lower end of the channel is stabilized with a stand of vegetation. We wanted to provide you with this information. Please let me know if you agree with our assessment of the situation. Thanks, Chris Murray Email correspondence to and from this sender is subject to the N.C.
