Fill Projects, Permit No. WQ0000020
Dear Sir or Madam:
The subject permit listed above was issued on September 2, 2015 and applicable only to the Asheville
Airport structural fill. As noted in the 2015 annual report submitted via cover letter dated February 17,
2016, ash movement to the Asheville Airport ceased in July 2015 when Area 3 was completed. As such,
the monitoring and reporting requirements listed in Condition IV and Attachment A of the above -
reference permit are no longer applicable. As specified in Attachment B of the above -referenced
permit, any additional movement of ash to the Asheville Airport for the purposes of structural fill would
need to be completed under an individual permit from the Division of Waste Management in
accordance with SL 2014-122.
Therefore, no ash analysis data is included with this letter. This submittal is completed in triplicate as
required by Condition IV.7. of the above -referenced permit. As DEP no longer holds a reuse permit, DEP
is not subject to 15A NCAC 02T .1209. DEP will provide ash basin ash reuse information to DEQ if
requested by DEQ in the future.
