RE: Bank Stabilization Project on Old Us 64 in Tyrrell County
I concur with Travis that due to the sight conditions an in-water work moratorium would not be required.

WRC is ok with the work proposed Even though the work in the canal is in very close proximity to the AFSA, the
separation of the work area by the access road is most likely at least a partial barrier to fish movement into the
canal. Therefore, WRC will not request an in water work moratorium.

NCDOT requests comments on a bank stabilization project on a roadside canal in Tyrrell County. The canal is on Old US
64 near the NCDOT barge facility. Maps and photos have been attached. The location is in the vicinity of the Little
Alligator River, listed as AFSA. NCDOT proposed to repair the shoulder of the roadway and stabilize approximately 525
linear feet of the bank with Class B stone, as shown in the attached permit drawings. The project would rebuild the
shoulder to a consistent width and improve safety for traffic on Old US 64.
Thanks, and please let me know if you have any questions about the project.
