(DEC) plans to install two groundwater extraction wells on the property of our Buck Steam Station in February 2018. DEC will utilize these wells to supply potable and process water to Buck's Beneficial Ash Unit which will begin construction in April 2018. This beneficiation unit will be constructed to comply with the 2016 Drinking Water and Coal Ash Cleanup Act where three Duke Energy sites were selected for coal ash recycling. As required by 15A NCAC 02C .0105(g)(3), for wells screened in multiple zones or aquifers, provide representative data on the static water level, pH, specific conductance, and concentrations of sodium, potassium, calcium, magnesium, sulfate, chloride, and carbonates from each aquifer or zone from which water is proposed to be withdrawn. 3.
