As far as O&M, I don't know...sounds like the usual excuse. If I or someone else screwed up or let something slip before, it's engraved in stone. The big things to watch out for (and I've clued Annette in) is: no semi-annual fertilizing (defeats purpose of a BMP in an NSW), no dorky verbage that talks about removing'indigenous' plants when they're 25% or 50% covering the pond. It's a wetland and there should be veg...duh...also, it's invasives they want to remove (cattails and other invasive plants), not indigenous plants. Annette doesn't have email or I would've included her. Cynthia Travis Crisman wrote: Cynthia, I am writing regarding the above project and its review by DWQ. I work for Bass, Nixon & Kennedy, Inc. and am the engineer who designed the constructed wetland. I have received a copy of the hold letter sent to S&EC on day 53 of the statutory period. I was hoping that you might be able to answer some questions for me: 1. The letter states that the constructed wetland is 15% to small. On what basis is this determination made? I have routing calculations, drainage areas, and any other hydraulic and hydrologic documentation demonstrating that this constructed wetland is adequate as sized. I believe that all supporting documentation was all included in the submittal package. In order to address this comment I need to know how this deficiency was determined. 2. The O&M manual provided was a version from another project that was adapted for use in this project. According to S&EC, this manual was previously approved when submitted under a different project a few months ago. Would you prefer that I use the example manual provided by DWQ as a template for the O&M manual? Your answer to these questions is greatly appreciated. Please consider this as verification that we have received your letter requesting more information and also as notification that we intend to continuing pursuit of this permit. Please feel free to contact me via phone or email. Thank you, Travis Crisman J. Travis Crissman, P.E.
