Subject: RE: [External] RE: Linville Ridge NOV Restoration Plan
David,
I went by Linville Ridge SD today and the repairs/restoration looked good (if frozen). In reviewing my file it looks like I
never issued a "non-compliance" letter since I was behind in paperwork at the time, so I won't issue any "resolved"
documentation either. Please consider this email to indicate that the Division is currently satisfied with the restoration.
Please inspect the structures regularly to ensure that they remain stable and contact us if repairs are necessary in the
future.
Thanks,
Sue Homewood

David,
Thank you for the post -construction pictures for the above referenced permit non-compliance at Linville Ridge s/d.
Based on the pictures it appears that the work performed matches work proposed in the 11/1/2017 stream/wetland
restoration plan. I will issue a close out letter in the coming days based on this information. We ask that your client
continue to monitor the site through the winter and spring to ensure vegetative growth and channel stability.. The
Corps will make periodic inspections of the site for these purposes. Please let me know if you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Dave Bailey

David,
Thank you for your email and permit non-compliance response plan. The Corps approves your plan and appreciates that
the plan designers have been retained to oversee construction. Per our 8/7/2017 permit non-compliance letter, you
have 30 days (by 12/6/2017) to complete the work according to the plan specifications. Please keep the Corps and
NCDWR informed as work progresses, and send notification and pictures upon work completion.
Note that, in addition to the work proposed/approved, the Corps suggests planting live stakes of riparian shrubs (e.g.
silky dogwood [Cornus amomum]) or trees to aid in long term stability of stream banks.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
