Unfortunately we can't approve that request of May 31, 2018. 1 realize that Mr. Crowell may be dealing with some
financial/legal difficulties but considering the history of this site and the small amount of material to be removed, we will
request/recommend that the unauthorized material be removed from the wetland by no later than February 1, 2018.

ClearWater Environmental submitted an After -the -fact PCN on September 5, 2017 in response to the Notice -of -violation
issued by NC DWR on April 20,2017. Following our on-site meeting with the Corps of Engineers and NC Division of Water
Resources on September 25, 2017 and discussions with Mr. Mike Crowell, the applicant has decided to withdraw the
permit application and remove all fill material from the unauthorized activities (0.24 acres). The applicant request until
May 31, 2018 to complete these activities. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you have any questions or concerns.
