Much better design. I just spoke with Micky Clemmons, who clarified that the rock drop structures that look like weirs will actually have a v -supe to them, with a lower 'channel' in the middle for the thalweg. The Division has determined that your application is incomplete and cannot be processed. The application is on -hold until additional information has been received. 1. Provide the proposed longitudinal slope and proposed typical cross-sections with dimensions including channel cross-sectional area, bottom width, top width, streambank slopes, and channel depth. Provide justification for the proposed channel dimensions based on reference reach information or stable dimensions upstream or downstream of the impact area. Size the channel appropriately to prevent future channel aggradation or degradation. [15A NCAC 02H .0506 (b)] 2. Provide justification for the proposed bank armoring with large boulders and describe why the project goals cannot be met with streambank grading, bankfull bench creation, and bioengineering practices. [15A NCAC 02H .0506 (b)] 3. Provide construction details/plans of proposed in -stream structures, type of structure (sills, cross vanes, j -hooks, etc.), and their locations (material to be used, material sizes, elevations, lengths, widths, heights, grading requirements, stream bank tie-ins, etc.). Size the appropriate structures to maintain the proposed cross- sectional dimensions to prevent over -widening the stream channel. [15A NCAC 02H .0506 (b)] 4. If the proposed project includes modifying the existing pattern of the stream (e.g., sinuosity), provide the proposed pattern view with justification for the modifications based on reference reach information or stable pattern data upstream or downstream of the impact area.
