Patheon, part of Thermo Fisher Scientific has a project to upgrade the cooling tower
system. This project will install two (2) new towers, one - 3 cell unit & one - 4 cell unit
with an economizer, to create a more efficient system. The new 4 cell unit will operate
on existing dechorination system and blowdown discharge piping. The new 3 cell unit
will have a new dechlonnation system installed and tie into the existing blowdown
discharge line. These units will replace the 6 cell wooden cooling tower that is at its end
of life. There will be no change to the existing discharge points or sampling locations.
Patheon plans to have this system operating by March of 2018
