In accordance with your October 7, 2008 letter to Mrs. Connie South, we are
submitting the following additional information, as requested:
1. Please provide stream determination documentation on the site (upstream and
downstream photos and DWQ stream identification forms).
We have determined that all streams are perennial. Therefore, no stream
determination documentation is required.
2. Please provide a location map, and the most recent bound and published
Caldwell County soil survey and USGS 1:24,000 topographic map with the
project boundaries located on them.
Location and vicinity maps are located on Sheet 1 of the plans. They are also
included with this submittal. A soils map and a USGS topographic map, both with
project boundaries located on them, are also attached.
3. Please indicate all wetland impacts including fill slopes on the site plan at a
1 "=50' scale.
The only wetland impacts are noted on Sheet C103. Since this is a utility installation
project, there are no fill slopes. Sheet C103 is attached.
4. Please enumerate all riparian buffer impacts on the site plan and clearly label
impacts (Buffer Impact 1, etc.), and enumerate buffer impacts in the Pre-
Construction Notification application.
Riparian buffers do not apply to this project.

5. If your proposed impacts to wetlands are temporary, please describe the existing condition of the
wetlands (dominant vegetation) and your replanting proposal for reestablishing the wetlands post-
construction.
Existing condition of wetlands to be impacted is wooded. A 20' x 220' strip will be cleared for the sewer
line installation. Once installation is complete, the area will be seeded as per NC DENR Land Quality
specifications. This area will be maintained as a utility right-of-way.
6. Your proposed stream crossing at 005 appears to be aligned at less than 75°. Please re-configure
your proposed stream crossing to show it aligned approximately perpendicular (between 75° and
105°).
The stream crossing at Station 32+50 is aligned at 78°. A note has been added to Sheet C105 of the plans
to ensure that the crossing is aligned at greater than 75°. Revised Sheet C 105 is attached.
7. Please clearly locate all isolated or non-isolated wetlands, streams, and other waters of the State,
and Zone 1 and Zone 2 buffers as overlays on the site plan.
Streams and wetlands are located and labeled on Plan Sheet G101. Riparian buffers do not apply to this
project.
We trust that this information will address your concerns about this work. Completion of this work is
critical to the Town of Cajah's Mountain and to the development which it serves. Accordingly, I
sincerely request that, should our responses not be satisfactory and additional clarification be needed, you
or your staff, contact my office directly so that we can expedite the submittal of the additional
information.
