Re: Brunswick Forest Phase 3 Golf Course Amenity Ponds.
Chad,
Attached is a report describing the potential impacts the proposed amenity ponds/
sediment basins may have on the nearest wetland systems. We have documented the
vertical separation between the wetlands soil surface and the proposed elevation of the
amenity pond. Using the horizontal distance as a secondary input to standard drainage
equations we have run each scenario to decide if there is a need for corrective
measures. Our report finds that no further measures are needed for the ponds as
shown. Please contact me if you have questions. We can examine some of these
features on our site visit.

This report summarizes the impacts the proposed amenity ponds/sediment basins in Phase 3
have on the nearby wetlands. My comments are based upon the design sheets provided by
Hanover Design Services for each structure. Site-specific soils data has been collected and
augmented by data collected and used in previous evaluations.
The following table is shown for the distance from the edge of the wetlands to the closest point
of the edge of the permanent pool. The closest distance to the wetland, PP elevation and the
elevation of the wetland ground surface are noted in the following table. For strongly sloping
sites, wetlands, at or below the PP elevation will not be impacted by the sediment basin. For
vertical separations of greater than two feet between PP and 404 elevations, for distances less

than 50 feet, we have recommended design constraints to minimize lateral water movement into
the ponds.
Soil borings taken at each site evaluated certain morphological properties and estimated
permeability as described in Standard Methods of Soil Analysis, Part 1, 1972 and Field Guide
for Describing and Sampling Soil, 1998. Soil profile data for each boring is not included in this
report. No proposed corrective measures are required to minimize lateral water flow into the
proposed amenity ponds/sediment basin structures. Please feel free to contact me if you have
questions or comments about this information
