Dear Ms. South:
On September 8; 2008, the Division of Water Quality (DWQ) received your application dated September
3, 2008, to fill or otherwise impact 0.06 acres of 404/wetland, 160 linear feet of stream (not identified as
perennial or intermittent), and 0.00 square feet of Zone 1 Catawba River basin protected riparian buffer
and 0.00 square feet of Zone 2 River basin protected riparian buffer to remove sediment from a drained
lake at the site. The DWQ has determined that your application was incomplete and/or provided
inaccurate information as discussed below. The DWQ will require additional information in order to
process your application to impact protected wetlands and/or streams on the subject property. The DWQ

and/or streams on the subject property. Therefore, unless we receive five copies of the additional
information requested below, we will place this project on hold as incomplete until we receive this
additional information. If we do not receive the requested information, your project will be formally
returned as incomplete. Please provide the following information so that we may continue to review your
project.
Additional Information Requested:
1. Please provide stream determination documentation on the site (upstream and downstream photos
and DWQ stream identification forms).
2. Please provide a location map, and the most recent bound and published Caldwell County soil
survey and USGS 1:24,000 topographic map with the project boundaries located on them.
3. Please indicate all wetland impacts including fill slopes on the site plan at a 1"=50 ` scale.
4. Please enumerate all riparian buffer impacts on the site plan and clearly label impacts (Buffer
Impact 1, etc.), and enumerate buffer impacts in the Pre-Construction Notification application.

5. If your proposed impacts to wetlands are temporary, please describe the existing condition of the
wetlands (dominant vegetation) and your replanting proposal for reestablishing the wetlands post-
construction.
6. Your proposed stream crossing at C105 appears to be aligned at less than 75°. Please re-
configure your proposed stream crossing to show it aligned approximately perpendicular
(between 75° and 105°).
7. Please clearly locate all isolated or non-isolated wetlands, streams, and other waters of the State,
and Zone 1 and Zone 2 buffers as overlays on the site plan.
Please submit this information within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter. If we do not receive this
requested information within 30 calendar days of the date of this letter, your project will be withdrawn
and you will need to reapply with a new application and a new fee.
This letter only addresses the application review and does not authorize any impacts to wetlands, waters
or protected buffers. Please be aware that any impacts requested within your application are not
