Section 404 Individual Perniit, issued December 12, 2012 and permit
modifications issued March 5, 2013, July 8, 2013 and October 30, 2015, USACE Action
ID 1992-03237
Section 401 Individual Water Quality Certification issued September 24, 2012, NCDWR
Project No. 20120240 and permit inodifications issued February 25, 2013, March 18, 2013,
July 12, 2013, May 1, 2014, September 25, 2014 and October 30, 2015.
The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) is currently improving sections of NC 24 from
2.8 miles east of I-95 to I-40 in Cumberland, Sampson, and Duplin Counties for a distance of 41.8 iniles.
This work includes a combination of widening, new location segments and other improvements.
Construction on Sections A-D continues with approximately 85% of the wark completed. Section E has a
tentative let date of December 2019 and Section F is currently post-year. However, it is possible the
schedule for these sections will be accelerated if funds become available.
The current permit expiration date is December 31, 2017. In order to complete construction in the currently
permitted jurisdictional areas for the project, NCDOT requests that the permit expiration date be extended
to December 31, 2019.
