General Construction and Erosion Control Notes
1. THE EXACT ALIGNMENTS SHALL BE BASED ON FIELD
CONDITIONS AND IS GENERALLY A STRAIGHT-LINE FOLLOWING
THE EXISTING PIPES.
2. SOME STONE MAY BE GENERATED ON-SITE FOR USE IN RIFFLES
(UP TO 30%) AND ADDITIONAL STONE WILL BE BROUGHT IN
FROM QUARRY FOR RIFFLE CONSTRUCTION. ON-SITE STONE
SHALL BE GENERALLY FREE OF SILT, CLAY AND FINES.
3. EROSION CONTROL MEASURES WILL BE INSTALLED AND
MAINTAINED DURING ALL PHASES OF WORK AND WILL BE
REMOVED UPON COMPLETION. INSTALL ALL EROSION
CONTROL FOR PRELIMINARY ACTIVITIES PRIOR TO BEGINNING
WORK.
4. ALL DISTRUBED AREAS WILL BE SEEDED WITH TEMPORARY AND
PERMANENT SEED.
5. THE CONTRACTOR WILL RETURN PUBLIC AND PRIVATE
PROPERTY TO ITS PREEXISTING CONDITION, TO INCLUDE BUT
NOT LIMITED TO ROADS, UTILITIES, VEGETATION NOT
SPECIFIED TO BE ALTERED IN PLANS, AND FENCING, AND IS
FINANCIALLY RESPONSIBLE TO CONDUCT ANY AND ALL
NECESSARY REPAIRS TO THIS END.
6. APPLY EROSION CONTROL MATTING TO ALL SLOPES STEEPER
THAN 3:1.
7. PERMANENT STABILIZATION MUST BE ACHIEVED WITHIN 14
DAYS AFTER COMPLETION OF ANY PHASE OF WORK.
8. INSPECT EROSION CONTROL AFTER ALL RAIN EVENTS AND
REPAIR/MAINTAIN MEASURES IMMEDIATELY.

Extensions of time may be approved by the permitting authority based on
weather or other site-specific conditions that make compliance impracticable.
Inspection and Record Keeping Requirements per NCG01
Measures shall be inspected once per 7 calendar days and within 24 hours of a rainfall
event of greater than 0.5" per 24 hour period. Corrective actions shall be performed as
soon as possible before the next storm event. Records must be kept on-site and available
for review during construction and must be maintained for 3 years and be available upon
request. A rain gauge must be installed at the site.

PRE -MOBILIZATION - SCHEDULE AND ATTEND PRE -CONSTRUCTION MEETING. CONTACT
HENDERSON COUNTY INSPECTIONS TO NOTIFY OF INTENT TO BEGIN CONSTRUCTION AT LEAST 72
HOURS BEFORE MOBILIZATION.
PHASE 1 - MOBILIZATION AND SITE PREP
1. MOBILIZE EQUIPMENT AND MATERIALS TO THE SITE. LOCATE LIMITS OF DISTURBANCE.
ESTABLISH STAGING AREAS, HAUL ROADS, SILT FENCES AND OTHER BMPS. INSTALL RAIN
GAGE AND LOCATION FOR STORING EROSION AND SEDIMENT CONTROL INSPECTION
REPORTS.
2. ALL HAUL ROADS WILL BE MONITORED FOR SEDIMENT LOSS ON A DAILY BASIS. IN THE EVENT
OF SEDIMENT LOSS, SEDIMENT FENCE OR OTHER APPROPRIATE PRACTICE WILL BE INSTALLED.
PHASE 2 - CHANNEL GRADING AND IN -STREAM STRUCTURE INSTALLATION
3. INSTALL PUMP -AROUND FLOW DIVERSION AND DEFINE WORK REACH BASED ON LENGTH OF
DIVERSION HOSES AND LENGTH OF CHANNEL THAT CAN BE STABILIZED BY THE END OF EACH
WORK DAY. PROCEED DOWNSTREAM IN SECTIONS. COMPLETE BANK GRADING AND
IN -STREAM STRUCTURES AND ENSURE THAT CHANNEL BED AND BANKS ARE FULLY
STABILIZED BEFORE REMOVING FLOW DIVERSION AND MOVING TO THE NEXT DOWNSTREAM
REACH.
4. WITH FLOW DIVERTED, HARVEST COBBLE AND GRAVEL MATERIALS FROM BED OF
DEWATERED CHANNEL FOR RE -USE IN CONSTRUCTED RIFFLES AND OTHER IN -STREAM
STRUCTURES.
PHASE 2A - BIOENGINEERING AND PLANTING
5. TREE AND SHRUB PLANTING AND LIVE STAKING WILL BE COMPLETED AFTER GRADING
OPERATIONS ARE COMPLETE AND DURING THE DORMANT SEASON (GENERALLY BETWEEN
DECEMBER AND APRIL).
PHASE 3 - DEMOBILIZATION
6. UPON COMPLETION OF STREAM AND FLOODPLAIN GRADING OPERATIONS, THE
CONSTRUCTION HAUL ROUTES AND STAGING AREAS WILL BE GRADED, RAKED, SEEDED AND
MULCHED AS NEEDED TO STABILIZE AREAS. ONCE THE SITE IS STABILIZED, SILT FENCES WILL
BE REMOVED.
7. THE CONTRACTOR WILL ENSURE THAT THE SITE IS FREE FROM TRASH AND EXCESS
CONSTRUCTION MATERIALS PRIOR TO DEMOBILIZATION OF EQUIPMENT FROM THE SITE.
8. NOTIFY HENDERSON COUNTY INSPECTOR OF PROJECT COMPLETION.
