Katie,
RES performed the release mowing and supplemental planting at Ivey -Ferguson last week. Two -hundred one -gallon
trees were planted in approximately 60% of the easement area (seven acres). Representative photos are attached. Let
me know when you can schedule a site visit to review the adaptive management and discuss close-out. RES can also
perform an early growing season vegetation monitoring, including supplemental plots, to document tree survival and
height. Thanks.

Katie,
RES is preparing to mow the herbaceous and woody competition at the Ivey -Ferguson site to allow the planted trees to
release. No mowing will take place within 30 feet of a stream channel. Following mowing, RES staff will evaluate the
condition of the planted trees. Easement areas exhibiting poor vigor and/or low planted stem density will be
supplemental planted with container trees. This work will be completed by May 12, 2017.
Please let me know when you are able to schedule a site visit to review the completed maintenance work. Thanks.

Daniel,
In response to our conversation today, if RES wants DWR to consider something other than what is being
"recommended" in the letter, please send me your recommendations in writing for consideration. For instance, if Fall
2017 is something you want to be reconsidered, please state that in the letter briefly.
Thank you,
Katie
