SUBJECT: Presentation by Duke Power on a Fly Ash Reuse Project

Duke Power will be.presenting an'overview of a fly ash reuse project at -the
Marshall Steam Station. Duke Power is currently in contractual discussions
to construct a lightweight aggregate manufacturing facility adjacent to the
Marshall facility. The lightweight aggregate, manufactured from dry fly ash,.
will then be used to make concrete block for use in the construction industry.
Fly ash can then be utilized at an economic benefit for -all involved parties as
well as to reduce the impact of ash disposal on the environment.-
