The following is an abbreviated application form for those applying for a 401 Water
Quality Certification to impact FERC (Federal Energy Regulatory Commission)
regulated lake shore or bottom under the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Permit
GP30. This Application cannot be used for wetland or stream impacts. Please
provide seven (7) copies of this application and supporting information as well as a
non-refundable application fee to the Division of Water Quality of $200.00 for
impacts of to lake bottom of less than 1 acre and $475.00 for impacts to lake bottom
of greater or equal to 1 acre.

follows, all bearing being referred to a true meridian and all distances measured

BECINNING at a point in the center of the road leading up the West side of Wolf
Creek Reservoir at a point S. 615-46 E. 614 feet from a stone,Corner No. 1 of Parcel 111c.
1 described in a deed from Verina Owen, Widow to Nantahala Power and Light Compam,
d.ated February 13, 1953, recorded in the Office of the Register of Deeds of Jackson
County, North Carolina, in Deed Boot: 200, a Page 12C, said stone being; also a corner
of the J. Il. Shelton tract and Nantahala Power end Light Company's J. 0. Shelton tract
and runs Due. East 155 febt, more or less, to a stake set at elevation 3090 vertical
fee. above the datum plane of the United States Coast and Geodetic Survey, thence with
a level contour line, as it meanders, at said elevation down the West side of the
valley of Wolf Creek Southwesterly 475 feet, more or less to a stake, set on the said
3090 contour lure, thence N. 4.7-16 W. 108 feet> more or less to a point in the
center
of said road, thence Northeasterly 170 feet, more or less with the center line of said
road, as it meanders, to the Beginning. Containing 1.0 acre, more or less , all as
shown on reap hereto at-?ached numbered B-7894-2.
