Subject Storm Water Permit Requirements for Composting Operation
Ken,
Can you please let me know the storm water permitting requirements for a composting operation classed as a Large,
Type -4 solid waste composting facility? They accept a variety of material from agricultural and industrial sources (yard
waste, wood pallets, food wasete, anmal waste sludge, sheetrock, etc) Their processes are contained in a building,
although some storage and processes, such as uncontaminated pallets and a wood grinding process is conducted
outdoors
Would they require coverage under a General Permit at minimum, or require that a "No Exposure " form be
submitted? I'm wondering is there is some sort of categorical exemption for composting
