Annual Avg Daily Traffic (veh/hr/day): Design/Future: Year: Existin : 230 Year: General Project Narrative: The project consists of replacing Bridge 400379 on SR 2715 (Busick Quarry Rd) over UT to Reedy Fork. The existing structure is a timber deck on timberjoists with a (Description of Minimization of Water sufficiency rating of 52.96. The proposed structure is a 3@11'x8' RCBC. Runoff will flow down fill slopes on the northern quadrants and will be conveyed across riprap which Quality Impacts) protects the culvert inlet and outlet. The ditch to the north east is a cut ditch with a velocity of 1.9 fps and a slope of 4.4 % and lined with grass. The ditch to the northwest is an existing ditch which is being tied to the culvert inlet protection. A special lateral base ditch will be constructed in the southwest quadrant of the project which runs along SR 1725 and has been widened from a V ditch to a base ditch to reduce the velocities to 3.3 fps and has a slope of 1.4 % and lined with grass before being conveyed across the culvert outlet protection. The culvert has been sized as to have one barrel match the existing channel to the greatest extent possible and is buried 1.0' below the existing bed and back filled with native stream material. The other two barrels will have sills and will only allow for high flow. As indicated on the permit drawings the proposed pavement nearly matches the existing with only slight widening for safety (with no guardrail - this will allow for overtopping during highflows) which this small amount of new pavement it will contribute very little to the existing drainage area and the ditch velocities. Riprap was added to protect and stabilize the stream banks and the old bridge which crosses at 90 degrees has been replaced with a culvert that better matches the stream alignment.
