Dear Mr Sideris, Thank you for providing the DWQ with updates on Progress Energy Carolinas Inc. fish tissue monitoring efforts in the vicinity of the Sutton Steam Electric Plant in New Hanover County. The Environmental Sciences Section has reviewed the Progress Energy report on the 2007 Selenium Monitoring of Fish in the Cape Fear River, dated January 2008. We are pleased to know that selenium concentrations in fish surrounding the Sutton Steam Plant outfall remain below the state's action level of 10 ppm.
