Thank you for providing me with the information regarding NCDOT's proposed project to repair the primary
dune system and NC 12 just south of SR1260 in the town of Kitty Hawk in Dare County, North Carolina. The storm
systems that affected that area on the weekend of September 3, 2016 and Hurricane Matthew severely degraded the
dune system and NC 12 according to the information that you provided.
This correspondence verifies that the request to utilize General Permit #198000048 (GP) by NCDOT is granted
given that all General and Special Conditions are followed. According to the project plans supplied in your September 16,
2016 email and the revision you submitted on September 12, 2016, all proposed work meets the terms and conditions
of the GP. Please forward me a copy of the NCDCM approval prior to initiating the project. I have attached a link for you
to download and review a copy of the GP. If you have any questions or concerns please contact me by email or at the
