The North Carolina Department of Transportation (NCDOT) was issued a 404 Nationwide
Permit 14 from the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) on November 13, 2015 for the
roadway improvements to Old Beatty Ford Road in Rowan County. The USACE 404 permit
expires on March 18, 2017. The project is scheduled to LET on June 20, 2017. The project will
not begin construction until after permit expiration. Therefore, an extension of the USACE
permit will be needed.
NCDOT also was issued a Water Quality Certifcation (WQC) No. 3886 from the N.C. Division
of Water Resources (NCDWR) on November 5, 2015. Therefore, an extension of the DWR 401
WQC will also be needed.
There will be no changes the original permit application submitted on October 13, 2015
therefore, NCDOT requests to extend the permit for this project. Application is hereby made for
an extension of the USACE 404 permit and 401 WQC from DWR. We have provided a method
of debiting $240.00 to be submitted to the DWR for processing the WQC extension request for
W-5313, as noted in the subject line of this application.
