Tami,
It was on my to-do list.
Kudos to ALCOA for being a player.
Based on the modified spreadsheet it appears that the reservoir will be held at a lower elevation window but within the
operational band described in 2.2.2.2 of the Settlement Agreement.
Appears to be copacetic from a DWR perspective.

So far, I’ve heard from Chris Goudreau, John Ellis and Bill Marshall – all are good with the
plan. Fred and Fritz, just a gentle reminder in case this feel off the radar. I’m sorry to be a
pest but please let me know if there is additional information you would like to see regarding
our plan. If you need more time to review, that’s fine too. Thanks very much!

Hello Again,
I hope everyone weathered the storm ok. I need to update you on a couple things.
First, I talked with Mark Gross at Alcoa and he said they would provide the 1000 cfs daily
average minimum flow release from the Yadkin Project during the outage. This will make the
potential impact to Tillery much less and we really appreciate their willingness to working with
us on that.
Second, the rain event this weekend took more flashboards off the spillway at Blewett Falls so
we’re up to 55 boards missing at this point. I’m surprised we didn’t lose more. Our plan to
release the minimum flow via the spillway during the outage will now be with 55 boards off
the dam. If we do not lose more boards between now and the outage, according to the
model predictions from the spreadsheet, we’ll need to maintain Blewett Falls Lake between
elevation 174.9 ft and 175.3 ft or 3.2 ft and 2.8 ft below full pond. That’s a tighter band than it
would have been with fewer boards off. We’ll likely have to fine-tune the pulsing scenarios at
Tillery in order to balance the elevations of Blewett Falls Lake within that band.
I’ve attached the spreadsheet that I sent with the plan on Friday to include the discharge
predictions with 55 boards off the spillway. Please let me know if you have questions.
Thanks!
Tami
